Anidees AI7 Black Cube Chassis Review

Admin Chassis 2880

Introduction

We reviewed the Anidees AI8 last week and it’s a stellar chassis, excellent for water cooling or anything else you want to put into an unobstructed internal space. Also, what looks to be a genuine principle of end-user feedback to help and evolve Anidees product range, means if you pick these guys up and become a brand fan, you may end up with some class leading products in the not too distant future.

The other chassis they sent us was the Anidees AI7 in black. This is a cube chassis, something that Carbide stole the show with the Carbide Series Air 240, though they were not the first. Who remembers the fantastic Yeong Yang YY0221B Cube chassis, the modders play thing and pretty much on most people’s Christmas list for a very long time. The cube chassis has evolved since then, and they are now in most respectable manufacturers product ranges.

You’ll get a boxed off section for your “ugly” components, PSU, storage and cabling, and then a boxed section for your bling, motherboard, graphics cards and so on. It’s a step towards what modders try to achieve with every chassis, a helping hand so to speak. There are other benefits too, they are not always tall, may have good airflow and will probably be very easy to water cool.

We have been testing a HTC Vive with the build we installed in this chassis for this review, and it has helped a lot with the testing and unplugging and plugging back in of all the HDMI and USB cables, so cube chassis are also pretty easy to manage on your desk.

The Anidees AI7 arrives in the usual static filled packaging, which is almost the PC industry norm. The same screws package and instructions style is included, just like the Anidees AI8 chassis. We didn’t include a picture, they are the same accessories with the inclusion of three cable ties.

The Anidees AI7 manages to be a full ATX component size chassis well and there aren't many compromises for the average system build. The Anidees AI7 is definitely worth a look if you want something a little different without too much of a compromise on your hardware.
