Introduction
DDR4 is upon us but that doesn’t mean that DDR3 is out. In fact, with DDR4 memory the plaything of X99 Chipset owners, it leaves every other chipset to use DDR3 memory, and will do for a while yet.
Any rig worth its salt will have some fast DDR3 installed but MHz is not the only key to a good performer. Timings and compatibility and reliability matter more to the end user than speed. There is no point in some DIMM modules that cause system crashes but is ultra-fast, but slow and solid memory is not desirable either. The only alternative, despite how obvious it sounds is fast and reliable memory.
How long has DDR3 been out there for? Long enough to be succeeded by DDR4 though still in full production, it should be fast and stable, let’s see.

Corsair’s packaging always feels like Christmas. There isn’t much to it but certainly feels like something substantial.
The two DIMMs are housed in a plastic sleeve inside the box. Corsair leave a little window to remind you how fast this DDR3 is!
