Introduction
Shuttle is a very famous name in mini PC’s. They literally made the barebones market their own about 15 years ago. For a long time, small wasn’t beautiful, so for a long time Shuttle made barebones chassis with bespoke motherboards and PSU’s integrated into them. They were, and still are excellent, but they had a market of their own, and only really played within their own market.
Well thankfully for us all times have changed. “Nano” is now everywhere, size doesn’t seem to matter, you can have it large-scale or tiny, so if you want it small Shuttle may just fit the bill.
We are all smiles to have a Shuttle on the bench, they are an old school brand who always had a vision, now with the market swinging back Shuttle’s way, let’s have a look at one of their smaller offerings, the Shuttle NC01U Series Nano Barebone PC.

The Shuttle NC01U Series is a very small set of nano style “bricks” or “tiles” and comes in a very small box. It comes with a VESA mount so it can be mounted discreetly.

Call us optimistic and positive people but we really liked it. The VESA mounting capability means you can hide this away and have a very clean set up. The Wi-Fi and wired connections allow you to put this anywhere, give or take a couple of situations. The SSD support and the 8Gb RAM coupled with an Intel Broadwell U CPU means as long as you are not gaming or Photo shopping, it’s an excellent office or web micro PC.
