There is plenty of head room in the chassis, and we think a moderately thick radiator and fan set up will be a good fit.
We installed our trusty PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 770 – Enthusiast Edition which is as long as its name, with no real issues. It uses all of the space provided but works without any fouling with a centimetre to spare.
The Scythe Mugen MAX CPU Cooler was used for this build, and it was at the limit for this chassis. We could push the side panel window in and touch the top of the heatsink, but we don’t know why you would try this, and other than the closeness to the panel, everything looked and worked fine.
The Corsair HX1000 is a slightly longer than normal PSU, but as you can see from the picture, no issues observed with this PSU, and in fact there is a perfectly placed grommeted opening to aid in cable management.
We didn’t like the molex and motherboard header fan combo, but it could help in a tricky “PSU” moment.
Conclusion
When you think about what the Aerocool Aero-1000 is supposed to be, functional, designed, water cooling ready and with cable management in mind, it ticks all the boxes. We found the Aero-1000 at £53.92 in the Amazon UK store, which is very cheap for what you end up getting.
It does not have some of the class of a chassis double its price, but it is very good at what it is doing for the money. We love this type of thing because it gives an opportunity for anyone to own a good chassis.
Overall it is a capable chassis, and cheap enough to mod without sweating bullets. It’s also good enough to manage a high end water cooling build or a moderate file sever and everything in between.
