Aerocool X-Predator II Full Tower Chassis Review

Admin Chassis 3582

Overall the test build was very easy due to the size and the motherboard openings provided. We did have some trouble with the fan controller due to the amount of cabling. We solved this by hiding it in the optical bay area, but that was our only headache with the chassis.

Altogether and with the doors on the Aerocool X-Predator II is a good-looking chassis, even if that’s not your style. The window can look a bit empty sometimes due to the sheer size of the X-Predator II, so make sure you have enough to fill it up.

Conclusion

So on to the conclusion and you’ll probably guess from the review we did like it, but let’s start with what we didn’t like, there is not much so this won’t be long. Styling is a very subjective thing, and we do not normally go for this type of chassis based on its appearance. With that said, in the flesh as we have already stated, this is a very different experience and actually we did end up liking it on our desks and around the office. Its size helps with this a lot, and the quality of the outer case elements.

There is only one other thing we didn’t quite like and that was the cables for the top I/O panel, there’s a lot and we think Aerocool have done a good job bunching them all together, it will take a little more time than normal to route them as you want. Once done, at least for us, we could forget about them and enjoy the chassis and the benefits the top I/O panel provides.

So only two flaws in our opinion, and one is a point in taste and the other isn’t hard to get around, but what did we like? The rest of the chassis is a very impressive thing and mainly down to the size and multiple applications it provides. We think you could throw most technology demands at this chassis and it wouldn’t break into a sweat at any point. The number of drive bays is impressive, the air space inside the motherboard area and the motherboard support is also impressive. If you are looking for a quad SLi or multi GPU set up, with RAID storage and back, then water cool it all, then throw in an E-ATX motherboard, the Aerocool X-Predator II full tower chassis will handle it all.
