Inside the Inkubus 300µ it’s mostly wood, with the internal mounting points being traditional stand-offs for example, the supporting environment is still made from wood, it’s all very well designed and laid-out inside.
The drive bays have built in doors with a dampening spring to aid a secure fitting, more essential for the mechanical drives than SSDs. The fan mount can take 120mm or 140mm, we’ll be using a Noctua NF-S12A FLX and with its rubber mounting points its perfect for an ultra silent application like a HTPC
Test Build
We have opted for a media setup, something you would see in an HTPC but not necessarily an office or reception build computer. We have not included an optical drive, there’s no space and we don’t use them. We have put together a system build that we think the average consumer would want if they chose an Intel option. We have also only included two SSD’s, though four large drives are probably the better application in a HTPC build, it makes no difference to the build as they are enclosed already.

We’ve used pretty much the same components as the Lian Li PC-Q21 Mini Tower Chassis review, excluding the optical drive and the Sapphire ITX Radeon R9 380 Graphics Card , because the Inkubus 300µ doesn’t support optical drives are graphics cards.

The Inkubus 300µ is a range of handmade systems at the high end of the market, why would we review the chassis? Well, Inkubus have stated there will be an opportunity for international customers to purchase the chassis alone on a special occasion, probably in early 2017. You may be able to get your hands on one, but you need to keep track of it and due to their handmade nature, we cannot imagine they will be mass produced, so it's going to be rare and sought after.
