With the usual mounting tools, instructions and a very small amount of thermal paste, there are no surprises in the box, other than the Dark Rock Pro 3 itself. This thing is big, really big, I think we need a bigger boat.
The Dark Rock Pro 3 is a very cool looking cooler. The colour scheme will match most dark themed rigs out there and its presence is dominating. The outer 120mm fan is height adjustable and is mounted with the normal sprung clips against two rubber strip blocks. This isolates the fan and prevents a lot of the vibration travelling through the body into the CPU/motherboard, eliminating a lot of sound caused by vibration.

Back in the day you needed to research your new rig so all the parts would fit together with no physical clash issues. These days there is so much out there you will pretty much get what you need and it will fit, well not anymore! Anything higher in height than low profile memory and you will have a clearance issue with the external fan, at least in out test X99 motherboard.
