Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler Review

Here is the X-Bar Quick Mount System and the Heat-pipe Convex-Align System. The curved metal arms move as required and has the added benefit of reducing the number of parts you need to install, at least on our test Intel system.

The base-plate is very smooth, but under the photo booth lighting it shows up what could be some manufacturing marks across the face of the contact plate. We would always advise you rub thermal paste into the base plate before mounting, this will fill a good number of scratches or imperfections that may cause performance issues.

Installation

We do not always show the finished installation, other than flagship products or installations of note, and the Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler is the latter in context of the X-Bar Quick Mount System.

The installation pictures show two things here, one, the X-Bar Quick Mount System works just fine, with no real issues and no skinned knuckles. The second is what Cryorig claim to be “Unmatched Compatibility Zero RAM Interference”, and it would appear to be true. True also is the footprint of the cooler, it manages to stay clear of any RAM issues by having a small footprint not much larger than the CPU mounting post holes. We have installed the H7 on the Asus Z170M Plus motherboard. This is a mATX Form Factor motherboard, and is probably the form factor of choice for anyone who would consider the H7.

Again, another Cryorig product that has a lot of high end features and a little character to it as well, but here is the main thing. The Cryorig H7 is under $40, and that's astonishing. The other coolers tested there, the Gelid Solutions Antarctica and the Reeven Steropes RC-1206b are very good little coolers but you will need to dig a little deeper to pick one of them up for your new mATX system.
