Introduction
Following on from our Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler review, we have an even smaller and lower price CPU cooler from Cryorig. This is the Cryorig M9i CPU cooler, and the “i” means Intel. Cryorig do have an AMD version, the M9a but we will be focusing on the Intel version today. We like Cryorig gear, it’s very high performing and high quality. The Cryorig H7 left us impressed with the cost versus performance attributes of the H7 but the performance on its own was only on par with the competitors we pitched it against. Let’s not forget that’s still a bit of a compliment, and the H7 still left some room for the enthusiast on a budget to squeeze out some extra performance, something that is getting a little lost these days.
Back to the Cryorig M9i then and this is a CPU cooler Cryorig claim to be “Small, Light, Affordable and The Tiny Enthusiast Grade”. Also, let’s put small in to context, this is Cryorig’s smallest CPU cooler ever, in reality that means you are not cooling a high end system, but instead this will be aimed at anyone with a tight budget, chassis space or someone who just wants to change the stock Intel cooler for a better one, without going mad!
The M9 microsite even has an Intel stock cooler heat dissipation comparison claiming a 33% greater performance than the stock cooler.

It’s a dinky little CPU cooler, but you get a bundle of accessories including thermal paste as you would expect from Cryorig. Everything is here to get you going, though this is for Intel only.

As a direct replacement for the stock Intel cooler, it's a very good choice. It's surprisingly good at managing temperatures and sound levels at stock settings, and with a CPU that doesn't produce 91W TDP stock, it's going to outperform the stock cooler in every-way.
