Despite the PH-TC12LS target market, small form factor systems, we ran the tests as standard, stock and then an overclock to 4.4Ghz. this should really test the low profile cooler.
The Phanteks PH-TC12LS sits just below the average on the chart for stock idle performance. It is expected due to its low profile design and isn’t a bad score and is slightly ahead of the Noctua NH-C14S.
When it comes to the stress test however, the temperatures do rise, but they are still in a good temperature performance zone for a non-stock cooler, albeit second last. The usual will apply here, sound performance is key to understanding if the PH-TC12LS has any potential as a good CPU cooler, remembering this is a low profile cooler aimed at small form factor systems.

As a standard CPU cooler the Phanteks PH-TC12LS is a good stock replacement from a performance standpoint. For looks alone, it's a very minimal design, but it's all well thought out and presented. We had no mounting issues, though it's going to clash with memory that has tall heat spreaders installed. As a low profile cooler it works really well. Any HTPC that has a mid-range and higher CPU will benefit from having this cooler installed.
