Stock sound performance is the average here, for idle. For the stock load stress test the PH-TC12LS performs really well, with less than half a decibel increase in sound under load.
Overclocking next and as stated, this is a 4.4Ghz overclock, something that should hammer a low profile cooler. The PH-TC12LS is just below the average again for the idle temperature performance, but the load performance put it in fifth place, just above the average.
Again, sound performance is key to understanding if the PH-TC12LS has any potential as a good overclocking CPU cooler.

As a standard CPU cooler the Phanteks PH-TC12LS is a good stock replacement from a performance standpoint. For looks alone, it's a very minimal design, but it's all well thought out and presented. We had no mounting issues, though it's going to clash with memory that has tall heat spreaders installed. As a low profile cooler it works really well. Any HTPC that has a mid-range and higher CPU will benefit from having this cooler installed.
