Phanteks PH-TC14S CPU Cooler Review

PH-TC14S does have a very good sound performance with the stock profile in third place and also having one of the stronger load sound performances. This all points to good stock Intel i7-5820K cooling performance.

There is little in the way of movement in the sound output under load conditions over the idle sound output.

For the overclock we pushed the Intel i7-5820K to 4.4Ghz, a challenge for air coolers on the most part. The PH-TC14S comes out on top, managing to cool the CPU at around the same temperature as the stock test. In the top three is no mean feat, and it’s in good company with our favourite CPU cooler the Noctua NH-D15 and the equally superb Cryorig R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler.

For a single fan cooler it is a little more forgivable to get a little warmer than some of the bigger dual fan coolers, especially under overclocking load conditions for example. The performance of the Phanteks PH-TC14S is definitely there though, a custom fan profile and maybe a second fan if you have the headers and don't mind the extra airflow,  you will have a capable cooler that looks the part too.
