AIDA64’s CPUID showing 4.0Ghz stock but which also has a Max Turbo Frequency of 4.2Ghz, which is enabled. Turbo is enabled by default on all of our tests.
We compared it to the Gelid Solutions Antarctica CPU cooler only from a point of view of a decent baseline for the Z170 LGA 1151 Chipset.
We need to remember that the Reeven Steropes RC-1206b is a low profile cooler and there will be some compromises built in, or at least that’s the idea. To get the lowered height requirements effectively manufactured, you will lose some basic performance, such as sound or heat.
However, and this is a good start for the Steropes RC-1206b, the heat performance during testing on stock configuration is excellent for a low profile cooler.
The compromise here should be sound performance, and it is slightly louder. This is still showing good stock thermal and sound capabilities. This is not suggesting the Gelid Solutions Antarctica CPU cooler is not a good performer, the tower cooler should come into its own during overclocking tests.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cooler, and in fact in HTPC, server or normal builds. If you have a small chassis, the Thermaltake Core V1 mITX chassis for example, this is going to be a perfect partner and coupled with the Intel i7-6700K, it shouldn't give you too many headaches, if any at all.
