The base plate is uncluttered and the heatpipes are woven through each other. Two 6 mm heatpipes have been replaced with 8 mm heatpipes claiming a better performance. The Scythe Grand Kama Cross 3 has been re-designed, two aluminum-fins blocks with a turbulence minimizing saw tooth profile.
The base is very polished, one of the most polished we have seen. If you rub thermal paste into the base plate before mounting, this will fill a good number of scratches or imperfections that may cause performance issues. Judging by the smoothness of the finished surface, there won’t be many imperfections on the Scythe Grand Kama Cross 3. It’s very close to the Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler for base plate finish.

The Kama Cross 3 is a competent cooler, and looks really good too. With memory and CPU area clearance sorted too, the Kama Cross 3 gives you an extra couple of reasons to buy one over the other standard looking single and dual fan tower coolers.
