Scythe Mugen 5 SCMG-5000 CPU Cooler Review

Stock temperature results up first, and the Scythe Mugen 5 preforms well, but is middle of the road when it comes to its main rivals. It’s missing out on the top end of the chart by a couple of degrees, though nothing to be too worried about at this stage.

We always point out at this stage, cooling performance is directly impacted by fan speed, which impacts the sound performance. This temperature performance is not bad if the sound performance is good, and vice versa. We’ll look at the stock sound performance next, and hope for some good figures there.

It's no surprise that we like the Scythe Mugen 5 SCMG-5000 CPU Cooler, we like Scythe in general. The Mugen 5 is a very capable cooler, especially in overclocked conditions, and enthusiasts dream. It's also very quiet, and well put together. If you want to add more cooling, you can add a second fan and try for better overclocks. With that said, you can easily go the other way if you want some very quiet and good cooling.
