Starting with the stock tests, first we have a look at the temperature performance on the X99 setup. Starting temperature is the highest we have seen in a while, but the load results puts the Scythe Ninja 4 just below the middle of the group results.

Under load conditions the performance is good and the high starting temperature wasn’t enough for the motherboard fan logic to increase the fan speed and lower the temperature.

Here is the case in point, the Scythe Ninja 4 is much higher up the sound performance chart, and with only a small movement under load conditions. This is encouraging and as suggested, the fan profile not feeling the need to increase speeds beyond a small performance window. A good performance and hints at a whole lot more potential in the Scythe Ninja 4 if you want to start some custom motherboard fan profiles.

We have no issues with the Scythe Ninja 4, it's a good traditional CPU cooler with some decent refinements. As with any test using default fan profiles and letting the hardware do the talking, you'll need to understand the Scythe Ninja 4 position in the charts is an "out of the box" view. We think the cooler has a lot of potential and we don't think it would take a lot of effort.
