We’ve dug out our old sound performance chart and grouped by idle performance, and if there is a draw, then we take the better load performance as the result, so the results may look a little crooked. Why is this relevant? If you have any of these older cards or something from the same generation, then you can see the relative performance, and for the Palit GTX 1070 Ti JetStream, it stands up very well, only being outperformed by the Sapphire R9 Tri-X, a triple fan card.
It’s a better performer than the EVGA GTX 1080 Founders Edition which has the same base clock but doesn’t have Palit’s beefy cooling solution, so it needs to keep its fan spinning at all times. The EVGA GTX 1080 FE has a higher boost clock, so it needs to push more air with a single fan, and with the reference design, it’s not helping itself, unlike the Palit.
