Ok, the card killer next and in our opinion, only UHD tests really manage to hurt GPU’s these days with Crysis 3, so here is the standard test at UHD resolutions.

The Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Edition manages to pull an excellent result out of the bag here. We could be seeing the result of the better cooling solution just managing to keep the core where it needs to be. With that said, the Palit Super Jetstream GTX 980 Ti should be there too, and it has the higher core clock speeds, but it just doesn’t manage it.

The cooling solution and the small increase in the memory base frequency of the Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Edition could have a small part to play here, while the slightly de-clocked core speeds compared to the Palit could just keep it cool enough to perform well.

Our biggest issue with this card is that it's not special enough. Sure a core and memory frequency increase are good as standard and the GTX 980 Ti core is excellent, but we think the only advantage in owning this card over the reference design is cooling, and therefore overclocking. You may get a good overclocking baseline out of this card due to the good cooling solution, and it will help with sound performance, but the Palit Super Jetstream GTX 980 Ti outperforms it on most tests.
