There are six SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors, supporting RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10. Intel Rapid Storage and Smart Response Technology, NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plugging. We’d like to see more than six SATA headers, but it’s enough for the mainstream user, and there are the M.2 headers to include in the storage options.
The DDR4 slots are clear and to the edge of the motherboard. They only have clips on one side, which allows for easy installation and removal, especially when there’s a graphics card installed.
Of note at the back, there are five USB 3.1, one USB Type-C, and the usual display connectors, including a VGA connector, for those still needing VGA Display support.

We bought the ASRock Z270 Pro4 for a project before the Z370 CPU upgrade fiasco happened. It's working as planned and it's got a 7700K installed and the owner is very happy. We persevered with the review because it's a good motherboard, and the only element that makes it last generation is the CPU. It's a modern Z270 chipset motherboard with a couple of throwbacks to yesteryears, such as the PCI slot, and a VGA graphics port.
