The Asus is solid again for the IOMeter tests, in both Read and Write results. The difference is marginal to the EVGA Z170 Stinger and we doubt there would be a tangible difference in the short term.
The AIDA64 memory test show the Asus out on top, which is very good and managing to beat the other in all three results. A point to note however, though all components were the same we only used 8Gb on the EVGA Z170 Stinger due to only having two DIMM slots.
We are testing and will update this in the future, but it doesn’t detract from the Asus Z170M Plus performance, it’s strong across the three results. Asus have claimed the Asus Z170M Plus utilises 2nd generation T-Topology from Asus, ensuring time-aligned signal transfer for improved memory stability and compatibility.
If nothing else, you can use and clock your memory to 3466Mhz, which is blisteringly fast, and the speed of some CPU’s.

It's hard to see why Asus would call this a flagship micro-ATX motherboard, it just doesn't have the prestige or the package. We would have also thought that a flagship motherboard would have both SLi and CrossFireX support. So we are not sure on the whole flagship front, but we do like this little gem a lot. It doesn't throw any heavyweight punches, or come with amazing accessories, it's just arrives ready to go and performs really well.
