The Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming motherboard is a nice looking board, and the packaging is all about the brand. There’s not much in the box, the minimum to get you going, but the board itself is very striking. This is an SLI supporting motherboard, but no SLI bridge is included, hopefully, our purchase was missing this, but if not, it’s a large omission for a small cost item..

On the Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming motherboard, there are six SATA headers and two M.2 connectors. The two M.2 connectors will not RAID for SATA SSD’s, as one of the M.2 ports only supports PCIe SSDs, but according to the user manual, a RAID set up with M.2 PCIe SSDs is possible, but it’s not the clearest.

A solid performer from Gigabyte, though an unnecessary upgrade for some, it keeps you on the Intel upgrade path, a bumpy and dangerous (for your bank balance) path. The motherboard is a good product let down but a light touch bundle and the biggest issue for us, this is Gigabyte Rev.01, or Revision 1. Gigabyte has been doing this for years, and for anyone who runs out and gets a Gigabyte motherboard at its launch and doesn't know this, it can be very frustrating.
