Conclusion
It’s safe to say the Crucial BX300 is another solid investment from Crucial. SSD’s have really come of age, and the third generation of the BX range is more evolution than revolution. There’s nothing bad with that at this time, we’re only really looking for speed and size, with the former throttled by the SATA bandwidth and the latter on its way slowly, the 480Gb BX300 is as good as you can get just now.
It’s got enough features to ensure it acts like a new generation piece of hardware and it’s presented well.
The BX Series doesn’t have Encryption, but it never has. It’s also returned to MLC, though its 3D MLC now. We are really splitting hairs now, so the bottom line is, this is a well rounded, well performing and well-priced SSD. It does exactly what it says it’s going to do and without fuss.
Each generation is creeping forward in speed too and at this price point, at the lower end of the scale, it’s right in the value for money section!
