So what’s inside the MX100 256Gb SSD? Apart from a warranty sticker (remove at your own risk) there is not much standing in the way of opening this up, nice for modding or being nosy, like us.
Internnaly the MX100 uses the Marvell 88SS9189-BLD2 controller, with a little thermal pad. The 256GB specification sports NAND based on the FBGA code NW645 and is 16GB in density per chip.

With Christmas on its way there is sure to be a price drop or sales and someone will pick up a bargain with excellent price point performance with one of these SSD's. You won't get much in the way of contents in the box, so make sure you have everything required to mount these to your rig, or even give your laptop a new lease of life, highly recommended.
