RAID 0 next and the X99 just manages to claw itself back. Read performance is very good for both Chipsets, and the MX200 manages to give good space and speed benefits in RAID 0 configuration.

4Kb tests are a drive killer, though the results are amazing by legacy drive standards, they are not a good reflection of SSDs overall performance.

RAID 0 Write results next and a bit of a surprise. The older Chipset is taking a bit of a lead, however the Z170 Chipset makes a bit of a comeback for the 256Kb test.

Basically, if you take the 500 MB/s Write that Crucial publicised, then two disk RAID 0 configuration will give around 83% of total advertised bandwidth in this Write test. Hence our statement about better than SLi as a simple technology benefit.

The Crucial MX200 500Gb is a sleeper drive, though if you already have a Z170 chipset motherboard, it is awake for you! If you have an older Chipset, and that includes Z97 Chipsets, they have nearly identical performance to the X99 Chipset for storage, the MX200 is an excellent future proofing drive that will allow cheapish large SSD storage, with a future performance unlock!
