The larger 64Kb and 256Kb files follow in the footprints of the smaller files with superb performance throughout. At almost peak transfer rate for 256Kb file size, there are not many files that will cause slow down when using the HyperX Savage SSD.
IOPS is a fimiliar story expect for a 16Kb Read spike running against the downward trend.
PCMark08 next, we broke down the storage benchmark, which scored an overall 4908, which in single disc configuration is excellent
Conclusion
We were not really expecting this level of performance or quality from the Kingston HyperX Savage. Not that we expected a lacklustre performance or maybe even mildly exciting, we just never expected to be so wow’d. There is an ouch on the way, it is currently £186.29 on the Amazon Store and £202.86 for the full upgrade kit.
Though a little cheaper than it’s Samsung flagship competition, it is still going to hit you in the pocket, but if you want a flagship SSD that’s got a little style, there’s no contest, except the one from us to give it away!
We have a new favourite in the office, because the presentation and style coupled with the performance, give it the edge we have been looking for. Editor’s Choice, by some margin.
We are giving this SSD away here, so check it out.
