Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan Z Reportedly Delayed

If you had 3000 USD to burn in your pocket to pick up a dual-GPU based Geforce GTX Titan Z then you are out of luck. For unknown reasons several etailers now have confirmed that the Geforce GTX Titan Z has been delayed, kinda weird because it was expected to get availability tomorrow the 29th. Dealers have not received any deliveries and now there is no inbound date either.

Many rumors now pop up, that this was a paper launch to nag AMD. Another rumor is that this was a strategic decision as the Geforce GTX Titan Z apprantly ‘could’ simply not be fast enough to compete with AMD’s Radeon R9 295×2, which sells at half the money Nvidia is asking.

GeForce TitanZ offers a cool 8 TeraFLOPS of performance. The downside, the card will cost a whopping $2999. Built around two Kepler GPUs and 12GB of dedicated frame buffer memory, TITAN Z is engineered for next-generation 5K and multi-monitor gaming. With two GK110 chips, TITAN Z is powered by a total of 5,760 processing cores, or 2,880 cores per GPU.
