Sony PS3 Gets Mandatory 4.55 Firmware Update

Sony has released a new firmware for the PlayStation 3. Firmware version 4.55 is a mandatory update, without which online play is no longer possible. No further details have been disclosed, although we think that it is a simple security update, and hence no changelog has been provided. In other news, the PlayStation 4 also received a minor firmware update earlier this week.
