Testing Methodology

All synthetic and gaming tests are carried out three times with the best result taken. If the game is an online multi player, the same map is used each time and a ping constantly under 30ms is required before a test is valid. We always try synthetic and real world tests, and for graphics cards, there is no better real world test than gaming.

The results depend on several elements, internet connection, other applications running, heat and the basic specification of the chipset, CPU and memory. We always run the benchmarks several times, taking the best results and recording them on the graphs, and only with the minimum diagnostic software running to capture the results.

Synthetic Tests

Real World Tests

  • Battlefield 4
  • Crysis 3
  • Alien Isolation
  • Batman: Arkham Origins

4K UHD Tests

We have introduced a couple of newer games in our testing cycle, and we will continue to build this database to ensure we cross test enough gaming engines and graphics cores to give a good refection of performance.

Synthetic Results

First we have the AIDA64 Engineer GPU results. The Palit Super Jetstream is firmly last in all three tests, though we have seen this before on flagship level models. It’s right on the money when compared to the Zotac NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti results.

AIDA GPU Benchmark - Reference | amCharts

You can’t be too disheartened, you need an AMD chipset GPU if you want to have a decent memory copy performance, Nvidia just doesn’t seem to focus on this area as much, look at the infamous GTX 970 performance for example.

What does it really mean at the end of the day, well enough if you game with large textures, with load and render times possibly with enough of a difference to notice, it may slightly frustrate you if moving from an AMD card. If you are a Nvidia die hard, look the other way now.

8.3

If you don't get a couple of AMD HBM  graphics cards for your rig, and would prefer a single card set up, this is the card for you. The cooling package and the GPU core speed increase impacts in a really balanced way, but always for the better. It's good-looking too, and the sound performance is as good as a GTX 970, it's only the price you need a strong stomach for. This product is recommended, however it received a lower score than usual due to the packaging issues we have seen. Get a good one and you'll love it!
