Lian-Li PC-K5WX Ebonsteel Mid Tower Chassis Review

Admin Chassis 2494

On the other side of the chassis, the non-window panel has the same flared shape, without the window. Both of the HDD caddies are removable without too much effort, though the 5.25″ drive bays are not. The top panel is metal, apart from the IO panel, which is removable and plastic.

The IO panel provides enough connectivity for headsets and USB requirements, including USB 3.0. The HDD caddie are some of the best we have seen. We can appreciate they are all a bit similar, but these HDD caddie have a solid feel when sliding in the HDDs a little more than most chassis we have tested.

The top panel is one of the more interesting features of the PC-K5. The top fan and radiator section is metal, and is stamped into the same metal as the top panel. It’s going to give some additional space for an AIO cooler for example, and with the inside of this and other mid-tower chassis restricted for size, this is going to help some get a better setup. It doesn’t look too out of place with the IO panel, but it’s certainly a visually distinguishing feature.

This chassis is suited to first time builds, or even if you are a parent building a first time system for your children. It’s also a good LAN party chassis, and carries the Lian-Li name, that’ll carry some weight on its own. If you want to have decent chassis for your first build or the other situations we have mentioned, the Lian-Li PC-K5WX is definitely worth a consideration.
