IOMeter IOPS Random Write has a slightly different performance curve starting relevantly lower but reducing at a lower rate as well. It tells a similar story to the Read performance test and manages to keep its head above water in the larger file sizes.

The Western Digital 4TB Red HDD shows a good performance in the Read and Write IOPS results, showing lots of big capacity capability.

The Lexar Professional Workflow DD512 still shows some good performance as well, but the trend continues at the 64Kb and 256Kb file size, with the Lexar Portable SSD starting to pull ahead in IOPS capability.

The Lexar Portable SSD is a fast drive, and it is small and compact enough to fit in your pocket. At 62 grams, without the cable, it's also not going to cause a lot of backpack or suitcase issues. There are plenty of portable SSD's out here, and unless you are transporting a sizable back up, you need to consider an SSD external drive, and this is where the Lexar Portable SSD comes good. It's fast enough to be impressive and it's cheap enough to be affordable.
